Amb. Dr. Choh Clovis Zamundi

Chancellor/ President

Ambassador Dr. Choh Clovis Zamundi is a distinguished academic, renewable energy expert, diplomat, and educationist serving as the Chancellor and President of the Cameroon Institute of Renewable Energy (CIRE). With an exceptional multidisciplinary academic background and a strong commitment to national development, he is widely recognized for his leadership in promoting sustainable energy solutions, education, peacebuilding, and institutional transformation in Cameroon and beyond.

Dr. Zamundi holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and several professional certifications in Solar Energy and Electrical Power Systems, reflecting his deep technical expertise in renewable energy technologies. His academic journey is marked by an outstanding record of interdisciplinary scholarship. He possesses three Master of Science (M.Sc.) degrees in Environmental Science, International Relations and Diplomacy, and Theology, which together provide him with a unique combination of scientific, diplomatic, and ethical perspectives in addressing global and national challenges.

In addition to his postgraduate studies, Dr. Zamundi holds two Postgraduate Diplomas in Human Rights and Social Justice as well as Arbitration, further strengthening his capacity in conflict resolution, governance, and policy engagement. His foundational academic training includes two Bachelor’s degrees one in Education and another in Renewable Energy Engineering, underscoring his strong commitment to both technological advancement and human capacity development.

As a Co-founder and head of the Cameroon Institute of Renewable Energy, Dr. Zamundi has dedicated his professional career to advancing renewable energy education, research, and practical training aimed at addressing Africa’s energy challenges. Under his leadership, the institute has positioned itself as a growing center for professional training and innovation in sustainable energy systems, particularly in solar technology and clean energy deployment.

Beyond academia and renewable energy advocacy, Dr. Zamundi serves as a Paramilitary Commissioner with the High Commission for General Intervention in Cameroon, demonstrating his commitment to national service, stability, and public responsibility. His engagement in both civil and institutional leadership reflects his broader vision of integrating education, security, and development for national transformation.

A passionate educator and visionary leader, Dr. Zamundi strongly believes that education, sustainable energy, peace, and ethical leadership are essential pillars for Africa’s development. Professor Daniel Adu is an accomplished academic leader, seasoned administrator, and internationally recognized expert in energy systems, renewable technologies, environmental sustainability, and energy management. He brings to CIRE a wealth of interdisciplinary experience rooted in more than 15 years of teaching, research, and professional engagement across Africa and Asia.

At the core of Professor Adu’s distinguished career is a deep commitment to bridging research excellence with practical impact. He holds multiple advanced degrees, including a Ph.D. in Power Engineering and Thermophysics from Jiangsu University in China, where he developed rigorous expertise in renewable energy technologies, fluid mechanics, and energy systems analysis.

In 2022, he further expanded his leadership credentials with a second doctoral degree in Theology, specializing in Leadership and Administration, reinforcing the breadth of his intellectual foundation and his capacity to lead complex academic and institutional frameworks.

Professor Adu’s academic trajectory includes roles as Associate Professor at the School of Management Science & Engineering, Jiangsu University, China, and Adjunct Professor at the School of Energy, University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR), Sunyani, Ghana appointments that reflect his global scholarly engagement and his ability to operate at the nexus of research and policy development in energy and sustainability fields.

His research portfolio spans critical topics such as renewable energy technologies, CO₂ emission reduction strategies, environmental and energy management, hydropower systems, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and energy efficiency optimization. His work has been widely published in internationally indexed journals, and he routinely serves on editorial and peer review boards for leading scientific publications.

Beyond scholarship, Professor Adu is a dynamic communicator and thought leader, frequently invited as a keynote speaker at international conferences, symposia, and workshops. He is also an experienced professional trainer, committed to talent development and mentorship.

His leadership philosophy emphasizes innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the cultivation of the next generation of energy professionals—qualities that align seamlessly with CIRE’s mission to produce capable, industry-ready Energypreneurs.

Mrs Bechemagbo Catherine Ngah

Mrs Bechemagbo Catherine Ngah

Registrar

Mrs Bechemagbo Catherine Ngah is the newly appointed Registrar of the Cameroon Institute of Renewable Energy (CIRE) in Limbe, South West Region, Cameroon. She holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Public Administration, bringing to the Institute a strong foundation in organizational governance, academic administration, and public sector management.

With a commitment to excellence and institutional effectiveness, Mrs Ngah is responsible for overseeing CIRE's academic records, student services, administrative coordination, and regulatory compliance. Her leadership supports the Institute's mission to deliver high-quality education and to build administrative systems that enable growth, accountability, and innovation in renewable energy training.

Mrs Ngah's professional focus combines strategic administration with service-oriented management, positioning her as a key contributor to the continued development of the Institute's academic and institutional frameworks.

Mr. Otu Emmanuel Sakwe

Dean of Studies

Mr. Otu Emmanuel Sakwe is a dedicated educational professional, experienced lecturer, and seasoned administrator with a strong track record in teaching, educational leadership, and programme coordination. Based in Limbe, Cameroon, he has built his career around advancing educational excellence and facilitating academic development across diverse learning environments.

Mr. Sakwe holds advanced postgraduate qualifications, including a Master's degree in History with a focus on Teacher Education from the University of Buea and post-graduate studies at the University of Bamenda, underpinning his deep commitment to pedagogy and curriculum enhancement.

With extensive experience as a lecturer, programme manager, and educational leader, Mr. Sakwe has successfully overseen academic initiatives and capacity-building programmes that strengthen instruction, mentorship, and learning outcomes. He has also served in various community-focused roles, including as Project Manager and Field Coordinator for educational and development organisations, where he championed programmes that foster student engagement, skills development, and inclusive access to learning opportunities.

In his role as Dean of Studies at CIRE, Mr. Sakwe drives the Institute's academic agenda, ensuring that curricula are robust, forward-looking, and aligned with industry and sustainability goals. His leadership empowers faculty and students alike to pursue excellence in teaching, research, and professional practice within the renewable energy sector.

Professor  Ransford Okupo Darko

Professor Ransford Opoku Darko is a distinguished academic and seasoned professional in fluid machinery engineering, irrigation systems, and sustainable water and energy management. He brings to CIRE extensive interdisciplinary experience in research, teaching, and applied engineering that directly supports advanced renewable energy and environmental sustainability training.

Professor Darko serves as a research fellow and academic leader with a strong portfolio of scholarly contributions in the fields of fluid machinery technology, irrigation efficiency, and water use optimization. He holds advanced academic credentials, including doctoral research affiliations with the Research Centre of Fluid Machinery Engineering and Technology at Jiangsu University, China, and academic appointments at the Department of Agricultural Engineering, University of Cape Coast (Ghana).

His research spans practical and theoretical aspects of fluid systems, irrigation mechanics, water resource management, and the role of engineered solutions in enhancing agricultural productivity and environmental resilience. Professor Darko has authored and co-authored multiple peer-reviewed publications on topics such as sprinkler irrigation uniformity, deficit irrigation techniques, and water use efficiency — demonstrating real-world impact on engineering systems that sustain energy and food systems.

As an educator and mentor, Professor Darko is committed to academic excellence, postgraduate training, and the cultivation of high-level engineering professionals capable of addressing complex challenges at the nexus of energy, water, and environmental sustainability.

He holds a Ph.D. in Management Science & Engineering from Jiangsu University, alongside advanced qualifications in business and finance, establishing a strong interdisciplinary foundation that bridges engineering, economics, and sustainability.

Professor Boamah currently serves as a respected lecturer and researcher, with a rich record of academic contributions spanning quantitative methods, environmental and energy economics, resource management, and public policy. His scholarly work includes more than thirty peer-reviewed publications in top journals, reflecting both depth and breadth of research impact across economic and environmental systems.

Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a commitment to interdisciplinary inquiry and applied research, particularly on issues that intersect economic performance, environmental sustainability, and energy transition strategies. His professional affiliations include membership in the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (EAERE), underscoring his engagement with global research networks and policy discourse.

Professor Adomako's research expertise spans a range of critical sustainability domains, including plant-soil interactions, ecosystem responses to environmental change, wetland ecology, microplastic pollution, and environmental remediation technologies. His work has been published in multiple high-impact scientific journals, reflecting his deep engagement with pressing global environmental challenges and nature-based solutions.

He has built a distinguished career grounded in electrical engineering instruction, curriculum leadership, and institutional development, making him a respected figure in vocational training and workforce development.

Throughout his career, Engr. Ewumbua has served in leadership and teaching roles at several prominent vocational training centers, where he has been instrumental in strengthening practical skills training, elevating program quality, and mentoring generations of technicians and practitioners in the electrical and energy sectors. His expertise encompasses electrical systems design, industrial electrification, electrical maintenance, and applied engineering pedagogy core competencies essential for effective vocational training and industry readiness.
