Professor Daniel Adu
Vice Chancellor, Cameroon Institute of Renewable Energy (CIRE)

Professor Daniel Adu is an accomplished academic leader, seasoned administrator, and internationally recognized expert in energy systems, renewable technologies, environmental sustainability, and energy management. He brings to CIRE a wealth of interdisciplinary experience rooted in more than 15 years of teaching, research, and professional engagement across Africa and Asia.

At the core of Professor Adu’s distinguished career is a deep commitment to bridging research excellence with practical impact. He holds multiple advanced degrees, including a Ph.D. in Power Engineering and Thermophysics from Jiangsu University in China, where he developed rigorous expertise in renewable energy technologies, fluid mechanics, and energy systems analysis.

In 2022, he further expanded his leadership credentials with a second doctoral degree in Theology, specializing in Leadership and Administration, reinforcing the breadth of his intellectual foundation and his capacity to lead complex academic and institutional frameworks.

Professor Adu’s academic trajectory includes roles as Associate Professor at the School of Management Science & Engineering, Jiangsu University, China, and Adjunct Professor at the School of Energy, University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR), Sunyani, Ghana appointments that reflect his global scholarly engagement and his ability to operate at the nexus of research and policy development in energy and sustainability fields.

His research portfolio spans critical topics such as renewable energy technologies, CO₂ emission reduction strategies, environmental and energy management, hydropower systems, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and energy efficiency optimization. His work has been widely published in internationally indexed journals, and he routinely serves on editorial and peer review boards for leading scientific publications.

Beyond scholarship, Professor Adu is a dynamic communicator and thought leader, frequently invited as a keynote speaker at international conferences, symposia, and workshops. He is also an experienced professional trainer, committed to talent development and mentorship.

His leadership philosophy emphasizes innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the cultivation of the next generation of energy professionals—qualities that align seamlessly with CIRE’s mission to produce capable, industry-ready Energypreneurs.

As Vice Chancellor of the Cameroon Institute of Renewable Energy, Professor Adu guides the institution’s strategic vision, ensuring that academic programs, research initiatives, and external partnerships advance sustainable energy education and practical solutions for energy transition challenges in Cameroon and across Africa.

Under his stewardship, CIRE is poised to expand its impact as a leading hub for renewable energy scholarship and innovation, attracting students, collaborators, and partners dedicated to shaping a sustainable energy future.
